The National Geographic Traveller (UK) Photography Competition, now , is an opportunity for photographers to see their work featured in the magazine 鈥� and, in the case of Jordan Banks, on its cover, too.

Last August, the travel and lifestyle photographer won the Competition鈥檚 with what the judges described as a 鈥渕ature, dynamic and striking image with excellent use of colour鈥�. Fast forward a few months, and one of his photographs appeared on the cover of the magazine鈥檚 May 2021 issue, which had the theme of weekend escapes. 鈥淗aving my work featured in, and on the cover of, such a prestigious publication as National Geographic Traveller has always been a dream of mine as a young photographer,鈥� said Jordan. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a real privilege to have been given this opportunity.鈥�

His archive is extensive when it comes to the UK, where he鈥檚 based, and he had just the right image we needed for our cover.
